We all know what would Jesus do, but what would YOU DO?!
Soul singer (I can only assume, it appears this is the only record released by this Bill Lee) out of Chicago, does his take on the country classic recitation. It's been recorded several times... Tex Ritter, Red Sovine, Porter Wagoner all have versions. What makes this bizarre is the pre-recorded, licensed film music that plays in the background... Alfred Newman's score to the 20th Century Fox Film "The Robe" (1953.) Aside from this original single, it's been comped on the 1991 oddity-packed LP, "It's Finkin' Time". What has never been comped, the flip, "Working Man's Prayer."
